This month, the New York Fashion Conference will be exploring the many facets of “Red: Allure, Style, and Significance.” Red is a timeless staple in the fashion world from red lipstick, to  Christian Louboutin’s iconic red heels, to the RED campaign designed to raise awareness about HIV. Red has long been a favorite color of Leaders in Leather’s designer Ricardo Zuniga and our fall line offers a variety of red purses and handbags for any collection.

Why Leather Bags?

We started doing luggage and backpacks but then we found out women loved buying handbags.  Leather is an amazing canvas for an artist to create designs for our handbags.  Each hide is completely different from the next making each handbag and purse very unique telling its own individual story.

 

Where do you find your design inspiration?

Right now it is working with colors.  We are working with coral, salmon, green, turquois, purple and yellow.  The new looks have a vintage and authentic feel but are very popular with today’s fashion.   If you are looking for a unique handcrafted bag in amazing color we are the perfect company for you.

 

Describe your tooling process?

All tooling is done by hand on vegetable tan leather.  We are able to draw patterns directly onto the leather which allows the artist to hand tool the entire handbag, purse or piece of luggage one at a time.  Ultimately there is no way to shorten the process of a handcrafted bag; each mark represents an artists work.

We listen to European Internet radio stations www.clubbersfm.it .  Or the NPR local station www.kut.org

 

What are you working on now?

Were working on purple, olive and sumptuous brown bags  that we will be showing at the upcoming MAGIC show in Las Vegas in August as part of  our New Fall Collection.  We are excited to show off these new bags as we feel this line is going to be extremely popular this season!
